Transparency matters. This page explains exactly what YouTube data we access, what we do with it, how long we keep it, and what we will never do.
We only upload the videos you choose, with the settings you choose. We never change or delete anything else on your channel.
Disconnect in Viewstorm or revoke access in your Google security settings at any time.
We never sell your data to third parties. Period.
Viewstorm asks for YouTube access in two places, each for one purpose, and only when you choose to connect:
The application asks for youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly so we can see your channel's current picture before we decide to work together. We read it once:
Right after reading it we revoke the access Google gave us, so we cannot read your channel again. The snapshot is kept with your application for at most 30 days, then deleted.
Connecting YouTube on your Account page asks for youtube.upload and youtube.readonly. We use them only to:
We keep the connected channel's ID, name, handle and picture and encrypted tokens while it is connected, and read those details again at least every 30 days. Each upload's status and link are kept for 7 days.
Signing in to Viewstorm itself asks only for your name, email address and profile picture.
Disconnect YouTube on your Viewstorm Account page (we revoke the access and delete the stored tokens), or remove access in Google:
Viewstorm's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Viewstorm uses YouTube API Services; see the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Questions about your data: [email protected]. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Our research tools read public video titles, thumbnails, transcripts, view counts and comments, along with public discussions on websites, forums and social platforms. Storm summarizes this evidence into an audience profile and evidence-linked insights about topics, packaging, hooks and content preferences. Adjacent discovery also keeps public video recommendation paths, classified video types, saved channels and unexplored videos so your requested or scheduled workflow can continue finding new sources. We keep these summaries, source evidence, local text-search vectors, your corrections and idea checks in your account until account deletion. Ideation generates recommendations when you request them and can carry the original video references and audience insights into your projects. Public evidence can suggest audience preferences; it does not measure individual viewers or prove click-through or retention performance. This research does not use data obtained through your Google sign-in or connected Google account.
